- Procedure
- CAUTION! Never fire the plasma with a meter connected for any of the procedure below. It has the potential of damaging the meter with High Frequency Voltage. Only connect the meter after ignition and disconnect immediately after measurement.
- Bring the torch down to approx. 3/8 in from the test plate.
- Disable the Automatic Height Control.
- Go to Process Window

F2 or AHC Function Button
-
Unplug X-44 on LCASIOB (X-4 on ASIOB) PC Board inside the Relay Cabinet.
- Fire the Plasma using a test cut program, ex. WFAT or manually fire and jog (requires assistance at the relay cabinet to doing metering in future steps).
- After ignition, but still cutting, meter reference voltage on plug X-44 (or X-4), pins 1 and 2. The result should be 5 volts ± .5 v.
- If 5 volts are not present.
- Check for proper polarity. Trouble shoot to find the problem. When found and corrected, go to 4.5.2. and complete the calibration
- If 5 volts are present
- Re-connect X-44
- Enable Height control
- On the Parameter Screen in the control, set arc volt Stand-off to 140 (volts)
- Fire Plasma
- After ignition, but still cutting, measure arc volts between work (negative) and electrode connection (positive)
- A difference exists between the set voltage (parameter screen, ref. 4.5.1.3.) and measured voltage

- Go to the R2 Trim pot (potentiometer) on the voltage divider board inside the Smart Flow II Box. Adjust this trim pot up or down to achieve an identical reading between the parameter setting and the metered reading.
-
Repeat the previous steps until the desired match of setting and reading is achieved.
CAUTION! Never fire the plasma with a meter connected for any of the procedure below. It has the potential of damaging the meter with High Frequency Voltage. Only connect the meter after ignition and disconnect immediately after measurement to prevent permanent damage to the volt meter.
- When the voltage measured is the same as the voltage set in the parameter page, the calibration is complete.
