The laser cutting process uses a focused laser beam and assist gas to sever metallic plate with high accuracy and exceptional process reliability. The laser beam is generated by a resonator, and delivered through the cutting nozzle via a system of mirrors. ESAB’s laser system uses no focusing lens. A dynamic mirror focuses the beam, allowing the focus to be changed automatically, on the fly. Features such as Auto-Focus, Cut-Loss Detection, and Pierce Detection, are all enabled by the fully integrated process controller.

With laser resonators generating up to 6KW of laser power, carbon steel or stainless steel plates up to 1” thick can be easily and reliably cut.

ESAB offers the Alpharex Large Gantry Laser Cutting System. It is a versatile gantry, able to process carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials, up to 17 feet wide, and almost unlimited length.

The Alpharex Laser Cutting Machine has a sturdy, extremely rigid gantry. Longitudinal and transverse axes are guided by proven systems with maintenance-free brushlessmotors, in conjunction with low-play, high-dynamic planetary gearboxes. These guarantee a high degree of accuracy in guidance and positioning, as well as high acceleration and high feed rate. Capacitive height control maintains a constant cutting height, ensuring consistent cut quality.

ESAB's exclusive 5 axis laser bevel system allows cutting of up to 45 degrees, depending on material thickness. On 12 mm material, bevels can be cut up to 30 degrees. On 10 mm material, up to 45 degrees.
