Avenger X Delivers Speed, Accuracy and Flexibility for Fabricators
ESAB’s Avenger X represents the latest in engineering excellence from ESAB, providing the speed, accuracy and flexibility desired by fabricators, shipbuilders and equipment manufacturers around the globe. This cutting machine offers exceptional positioning speed, precision accuracy and process flexibility for plasma or oxyfuel cutting and beveling.
Precision linear ways and a high-stiffness beam structure provide the strength and accuracy you need for precision cutting, marking and beveling. The fabricated beam is made from two steel tubes with welded stiffener plates to form an extremely stiff welded structure. The Avenger X’s trucks are fabricated from cut and formed steel plate with a machined mating surface on top that is more than 20 in. wide to make a very stiff connection between the beam and trucks. Available in widths to cover 8 to 18 ft., the gantry can carry a wide variety of cutting and marking tools, including precision plasma torches, oxyfuel torches, plasma or oxyfuel bevel heads, punch markers, drills and router stations.
The Avenger X offers positioning accuracy of ±0.015 in. over a 6 ft. x 6 ft. area and repeatability of ±0.005 in. A “Plus” option features dual linear rails on the Y-axis and high precision racks and pinions to improve accuracy to ±0.010 in. and repeatability to ±0.003 in. The machine is also available with a variety of different rail systems, including the standard triple-machined T-rail or an extra heavy-duty 85 lb. crane rail. Additional options include a rider’s platform, heat shields and overhead cable track drag bracket.
A high-inertia AC brushless motor, Yaskawa digital AC drive amplifiers and ESAB’s exclusive heavy-duty parallel shift gearbox produce speeds up to 1,400 inches per minute with exceptional positioning accuracy and performance. The digital drive amplifiers require no periodic adjustments or maintenance and are proven to provide consistent performance over the life of the machine.
Combined with ESAB’s high-speed lifters and integrated process control, Avenger X provides maximum throughput at the lowest cost per part in the industry.
Unique Features Simplify Set Up & Operation
The Avenger X features a unique Electronic Proportional Valve Gas Control System that makes oxyfuel operation automatic, easy, repeatable and accurate. This system automatically adjusts the fuel gas low preheat pressure, oxygen low preheat pressure, fuel gas high preheat pressure, oxygen high preheat pressure, cutting oxygen start pressure, cutting oxygen ramp time and cutting oxygen maximum pressure. Oxyfuel gas setup is as simple as selecting the material thickness. The Vision CNC control does the rest, using ESAB’s exclusive Programmable Cutting Parameters to fully automate process set up. This fully integrated process control system also automatically sets the cutting speed, kerf offset, preheat time, pierce delay, creep speed, high preheat delay and travel delay. An optional automatic height control system automates the preheat height, pierce height and cutting height.
The Avenger X can also be equipped with ESAB's exclusive, fully automated Flame Control system. This system provides full automation of the oxyfuel cutting process, using flame monitoring technology and electronic proportional valve gas controls, making oxyfuel cutting easy to set up and easy to use.
For plasma cutting and beveling, the Avenger X features ESAB’s new m3 Plasma System, which combines multiple plasma cutting and marking features in a single easy-to-use system, taking plasma cutting productivity to new heights.
