Floppy disk <n>: general error <m>

Error when accessing the disk. Possibly, the control system is no longer operational.

1. If you have a Vision 500, 1000, or 2000 without a hard drive.  Replace your system disk and re-boot.  Before replacing make sure you have an extra copy.  Please go to my computer, "right click" on the floppy drive a:/ and then select option "copy disk".  Follow directions.  Do Not discard the system disk that may be causing the problem. The data from this disk, may be needed.

2.  You may have a bad floppy system drive (0) or user drive (1), Swap the user and the system to check if the problem follows the drive.  Or on Vision PC's and NT's swap User drive with with a new User drive.

Replace the floppy drive.     Use this correction with Vision 500, 1000 and 2000 without the hard drive.

There may also be a bad user drive (floppy drive 1), on any Vision control.  Please check your disk that contains your programs.

Note error number <m> and forward damaged floppy disk to ESAB service. If the damaged disk is the system disk, inform ESAB service.

The error number <m> is displayed as a 16 bit integer value in hexadecimal format. While possibly two errors may occur, the values are separated in LowByte and HighByte. The HighByte includes the BIOS-Message codes and the LowByte the error numbers from the IRQ-Service.
